Slave Lake Government Centre

BACKGROUND
This new community hub and government centre will be a one-stop, service-oriented landmark for the citizens of the Slave Lake region. The combined public space will be home to a town hall, a library, and provincial government offices. Thirteen different Provincial Government departments are included in this project that requires the design of both the base building and the tenant improvements.

The centrally-located facility will be a permanent anchor for the town, revitalizing the downtown area while enhancing the presence of provincial government services.
Participants in a design workshop led by Manasc Isaac envisioned a functional, accessible, convenient and healthy facility, adaptable to changing workplace needs.

The new Slave Lake Government Centre and Library will reinforce community identity and the vibrant energy of a youthful community. It will create a more walkable, green community. It is designed to achieve a LEED® Silver minimum certification.
