Intern Architect, AAA, M. Arch

M.Arch, BAS

Rebecca is a talented, organized and adaptable Intern Architect with our Edmonton studio. Born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, Rebecca completed her Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS), and Masters of Architecture (M.Arch) at the Laurentian University McEwen School of Architecture.

Rebecca believes that architecture should be primarily inclusive, accessible, and flexible; “Architecture is for people,” she says. “A space should be evaluated by how well it meets the needs of those who will occupy it.” She also understands the absolute importance of sustainability and believes that environmental considerations should be integrated into every project.

Rebecca is eager to expand her understanding in the areas of sustainable design, and to address the inequalities that she sees to be inherent in the field of architecture. As the founder of the social justice group, Building Equality in Architecture North, Rebecca hopes for the future growth of the organization and to be an empowering force in the lives of women in the field. “Architecture is centered around the human experience. I hope that I make a positive impact on people, both in my work as a designer and in my relationships with the people I meet.”

Outside of work, Rebecca loves hiking and being outdoors, exploring new cities and new experiences, and experimenting in the kitchen!
