Edmonton’s Energy in Transition

We were thrilled to hear this week that Edmonton’s city councillors unanimously passed the Energy Transition strategy, a 20 year plan to reduce energy consumption in the city, and move our community toward renewable and reliable energy sources.
At Manasc Isaac, we’ve been advocating for a greener energy future for almost two decades. After all, buildings are a crucial component of sustainable development. Data indicates* that the built environment is responsible for:
- 40% of the annual energy consumption
- 20 % of the annual water usage
- and they generate up to 30% of all energy-related greenhouse gas emissions
Kudos to the City of Edmonton on articulating its commitment to a sustainable energy future for our community!
