Civil Engineering Technologist

Originally from the Philippines, Aira moved to Edmonton to be closer to family and explore new opportunities to learn, work, and live. Although her cross-continental move disrupted the 5-year civil engineering degree she began in the Philippines, she hopes to one day complete it and become a licensed engineer. For now, the Civil Engineering Technology diploma she earned at NAIT serves her well as Reimagine’s Civil Engineering Technologist.

Aira’s interest in architecture was piqued during her high school years; she was fascinated by the meticulous process of design and problem-solving behind every building. Her first role in the industry was on the construction side, and it gave her insight into the construction and inspection process which she now integrates into her design work. Aira loves seeing a project through from the ground up: from design to construction. Her favourite part of a project is the iteration that happens, as questions that ultimately shape the building emerge.

A lover of travel, Aira enjoys discovering new places in her free time: hiking in the wilderness, relishing mountain scenes and lakes, and capturing these experiences through photography. Indoors, Aira unwinds by playing video games on her custom-built PC and collector consoles.
