Hailing from the Netherlands, Bert Jan first came to Canada to participate in an exchange semester at MacEwan University in Edmonton. The city and its people left an indelible mark on him. After completing his degree in the Netherlands in 2024, he decided to leap across the Atlantic and settle in Edmonton. This move reunites Bert Jan with one of his favourite cities, and also reunites him with his girlfriend, who he met here during his exchange semester!

Bert Jan’s Bachelor’s degree in Communications equips him with a diverse skill set, encompassing marketing, journalism, and design. Intrigued by architecture's transformative possibilities, Bert Jan joins our team as Proposal Writer, helping to identify and win work for the firm.

Outside of work, Bert Jan enjoys a range of hobbies that range from going to the gym, to reading a good book. He loves music and was excited to see the Reimagine house band’s instruments scattered across the studio. He looks forward to contributing his skills on the piano and drums. Bert Jan also loves soccer, and although he can’t play anymore due to injury, he’ll no doubt be joining Reimagine’s future FIFA watch parties!
