Eleisha Underwood

Project Coordinator

Raised in Edmonton in a housing cooperative, Eleisha developed an early appreciation for the ways architecture and shared spaces can foster connection, belonging, and community.

With Scottish and Métis roots, Eleisha is interested in how art, architecture, and placemaking can reflect diverse histories while creating more inclusive and meaningful environments. She believes that innovative, well-designed spaces can strengthen relationships between people and the places they share.

Eleisha’s background includes 16 years in environmental engineering research at the University of Alberta, where she worked in biodensification, supercritical fluids, and the scale-up of high-pressure extractors from bench to pilot scale. Finding solutions to novel problems was central to this work, requiring analytical rigour, creative thinking, and a willingness to test and refine new approaches. This experience shaped her ability to work through complexity, connect ideas across disciplines, and approach unfamiliar challenges with curiosity and resourcefulness.

As a Project Coordinator at Reimagine, Eleisha brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to projects, combining strong organization with creative problem-solving to navigate challenges and turn ideas into practical solutions. Drawing on her research experience, she enjoys exploratory projects where curiosity, adaptability, and unconventional thinking are essential to moving the success of a project.
