Yangyang is an Intern Architect with our Vancouver studio and a former Architecture Student at our Edmonton office. Yangyang is a diligent and creative design professional who is excited to collaborate and innovate alongside like-minded individuals.
In 2020, Yangyang graduated with a Master of Architecture. In her thesis, she explored the transformative potential of the oil industry’s aging infrastructure to regenerate new energy landscapes and sustainable design innovations. Central to Yangyang’s philosophy is her belief that beautiful, successful designs require collaboration and integration. “Architecture is a team sport,” she says. “You have to be able to amplify a vision through collaborative design.”
She also appreciates architecture for its ability to tell a story; “There is so much freedom to be expressive–design facilitates narrative. The final product should relate back to the original concept.” In her work, Yangyang especially enjoys exploring different modes of representation, such as renders, diagrams, images and materials for marketing, and other tools for communication.
In her free time, she enjoys writing, painting, snowboarding, tending to her various houseplants, and hanging out with her mini-Australian Shepherd, Jasper.
