Summer Solstice Party
At Manasc Isaac, we appreciate the sun. After all, solar power provides electricity both to our studio’s (and many of our clients’) solar panels, provides mood-boosting and free natural light for our space, and even heats some of our passive-design projects through the winter months! Our team celebrates the sun every year at our famed Summer Solstice Party; what better day to appreciate this resource than the longest day of the year?
On Friday, June 19 2015, 250 guests dropped by the studio for food, drink, music from our in-house band, and great company. Our collectively-crossed fingers brought us some luck weather wise, allowing us to celebrate on the rooftop patio well into the evening.
Mayor Don Iveson brought greetings on behalf of the City, while Manasc Isaac Principal Shafraaz Kaba and 818 Studio Principal Rick Gendron presented the 4th annual Blue Sky Awards. This year, the two non-profits to receive funding for their dream projects are:
- Bissell Centre, Edmonton
- Safe Harbour Society, Red Deer
Stay tuned for more info on these exciting projects – we can’t wait to see what these valuable community services envision for their facilities.
Heading inside when Friday’s storm did arrive, everyone enjoyed food from our in-house chef Courtney, and a beautiful new copper art installation by our own Tiffany Shaw-Collinge (pictured below).
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this year’s party, and a special thank you to Fernie Brewing Company who was kind enough to bartend and tell us about the delicious craft beer our guests enjoyed Friday evening.
See you at next year’s party!
