Alexis Mitchell
Interior Designer
B.I.D, Dip. ID. Tech., Dip Arch.Tech.
Alexis joined the Edmonton Reimagine studio in 2022. She is a creative and enthusiastic out-of-the-box thinker and skilled design professional. Alexis has over seven years of experience as a Design Technologist and is excited to grow in her role as an Interior Designer within the firm. She is an Intern Interior Designer with the Interior Designers of Alberta (IDA) and currently in the process of completing her NCIDQ certification.
Since she was young, Alexis has been interested in design and buildings and how people interact with the built environment. She values in her work opportunities for collaboration and being able to learn from the experiences and perspectives of her co-creators. Her personal work philosophy is “Never be the smartest person in the room.” As she states, “You can always learn something from someone. I love to see how everyone’s different experiences shape the way they think and do work. There should always be opportunities to learn or to understand different perspectives. The Architecture and Interior design industry give us a unique opportunity to both teach, learn, listen, and express.” Alexis has a passion for 3D modelling and rendering, and has a strong background in developing design and contract documents.
She is excited to gain more experience with different design programs and technologies. Her next professional goals include registering as an Intern Interior Designer under the Architect Association of Alberta (AAA) and studying for her LEED® AP Certification. In her free time, Alexis loves to snowboard, make polymer clay jewelry, and play video games. She is a long-time animal lover and loves show off pictures of her two Daschund puppies. She is also a skilled musician, at one time playing saxophone with the Cosmopolitan Music Society of Edmonton’s Jazz band.
