HISTORY

The Dene Tha’ is a First Nation government of the South Slavey in northern Alberta. Bushe River is one of three primary locations in which the Nation population is gathered, located to the west of the town of High Level and boasting a population of around 500 people.

VISION

The multi-use building marks the beginning of a future commercial development for Bushe River, serving the Dene Tha’ and its visitors. The mall will help members to increase their economic independence by giving them opportunities to sell their goods and gain employment. The building includes a small supermarket, convenience retail area, gas station services and pharmacy.

BRIGHT AND COMPELLING

The building features a curvilinear shape and vibrant colour scheme, providing a strong visual presence for highway traffic. Exterior lighting is designed to highlight the curved façade at night.
