HISTORY
The Alexander First Nations band government is headquartered 17 kilometres west of Morinville, Alberta. The Wilderness Resort will not be the first project that we have led with the community; the Alexander School is an ongoing project soon to be completed, which will accommodate the reserve's elementary, junior high, and high school students.
VISION
The Resort will invite visitors and local community members to immerse themselves in the culture, history, and language of the Alexander First Nations. Inspired by the form of the medicine wheel, the space will be anchored by a Gathering Centre at its middle, around which visitors can explore other cultural activities such as axe-throwing and archery. The Resort will also provide an ampitheatre and stage for performances, a children's play and exploration area, and camping facilities. Maintained trails invite visitors to explore the natural wonders of the area, to disconnect, recharge, and have fun!
