CONTEXT
The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) engaged Reimagine to undertake a comprehensive review of its Interfaith Centre, as the existing space no longer served the needs of students, faculty and staff.
THE VISION
The project team facilitated extensive engagement with Student Services, Facility Management and Operations, the International Centre and EDI groups, students and funding/donor stakeholders to conceptualize a modern, inclusive environment that supports diverse faith practices and spiritual reflection, while also providing essential spaces such as a safe ablution area and chaplain offices for guidance and support. The space was envisioned to prioritize accessibility, flexibility, and acoustic improvements, fostering connection and well-being within the SAIT community. The end goal: a functional and welcoming multi-faith hub to support the spiritual needs of SAIT’s diverse population and promote interfaith dialogue and cultural understanding.
