Project Sectors
With a generous donation from O’Dell Electric, the MacPhail School of Energy transformed the third floor of the Thomas Riley Building, home to SAIT’s Electrical Trades programs. This modernization expanded instructional space to accommodate projected enrollment growth while addressing key functionality issues.
The project aimed to enhance the student experience by improving access to natural light, reducing washroom congestion, and updating outdated furniture, equipment, and finishes.
The design pays homage to the Electrical Trades Program by drawing inspiration from electrical concepts. Just as a line diagram illustrates how an electrical system comes together, the design approach integrates diverse needs into a cohesive system—one that energizes the space and inspires those who teach, learn, and collaborate within it.
