HISTORY
IOGC and ISC
Indian Oil and Gas Canada (IOGC) and Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) operate offices within the Chief Joseph Big Plume Building in the Tsuut’ina First Nation on the west border of Calgary, Alberta. IOGC has their full operation headquartered in this location. ISC operates a number of programs from this location but is headquartered in Ottawa, with district offices in Edmonton.
Current Location
The Chief Joseph Big Plume Building is the main location for administration for the Tsuut’ina Nation and provides office space for these uses, as well as other tenants, including the Government of Canada offices. The building is a four-level structure with one of the levels partially sunken into the landscape, which is the level IOGC occupies. ISC is on the second floor, two floors above the IOGC offices. The building is owned and operated by the Nation.
VISION
GC Workplace Vision
The goals of the GCworkplace suite of tools is to develop office spaces and special purpose areas which support the evolving needs of Government of Canada office locations. This includes applying lessons learned from the ways in which employees have adapted to the pandemic, how the built environment supports these changes, and the evolution of office culture and design this has sparked. By applying Activity-Based Working (ABW) concepts to the space, the intent is to minimize the amount of space needed for each office area while providing a variety of tools to support productivity in each space.
Functional Program
The functional program will be determined relative to the specific requirements of the organizations and how they can meet their needs and by extension, the needs of the people they serve. This will be completed during the process through engagement and quantitative analysis.
