HISTORY

The University of Calgary’s Foothills Campus has long been dedicated to the exploration of new and ground-breaking research in the areas of health and medicine. As the campus has continued to grow in its vision and scope, school administration and leaders of the Indigenous Health Program have expressed the need for a dedicated support space for Indigenous students and staff.

VISION

The space is a welcome addition to the Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement (SPaCE) Office. The Hub accommodates the unique needs and requirements of the school’s Indigenous population, providing an environment for the dissemination of cultural knowledge and a gathering location for important ceremonies, such as smudging and drum circles.
