HISTORY
Located in Peace River, Alberta, the existing École des Quatre-Vents School provides education for Francophone students from kindergarten through to grade 12. This existing facility no longer meets the required capacity of the surrounding community or the functional requirements of the staff and students and it was determined by Alberta Infrastructure and Conseil Scolaire du Nord-Ouest (CSNO) that construction of a new facility is the most viable option for expansion. The project intent was for the existing school to remain open and operational throughout construction.
VISION
The new Ecole des Quatre-Vents School accommodates existing and new students within an open, innovative, and energy-efficient building that will be designed to achieve LEED® V4 Silver. The new school encourages 21st Century Learning, which focuses on embracing creative teaching opportunities, incorporating the digital world, encouraging innovation, and connecting learning to local and global communities through interactive spaces for student-teacher collaboration. These spaces enable students to access learning according to their individual passions, curiosities, and needs. The Ecole des Quatre-Vents school will excite students and spark creativity and a desire for learning, and provide a welcoming environment for staff, students, and the community.
