Project Sectors
Sitting on a previously developed school site, the Civida Keheewin site is situated in south Edmonton, with access off Calgary Trail and in close proximity to the Anthony Henday ring road. Keheewin is a mature neighbourhood with a predominantly older demographic; the existing elementary school is under capacity and there is a desire to expand the demographic of the community to include younger families which in turn will provide greater funding for programming for the neighbourhood as a whole. Keheewin is a low-density neighbourhood with easy access to retail stores, malls, medical offices, groceries, a school, a community league, a church and restaurants along with other points of interest. Along 105th street bordering the site, there is convenient access to public transportation.
Immediate surrounding structures are scaled, single-family dwellings which contributes to the neighbourhood’s perception and relationship to the development.
